Robo Gems
A downloadable game
Concept
Robo Gems is a fast-paced, competitive platform game for two players, built for the Commodore 64. The goal is simple — collect more gems than your opponent before the timer runs out. But the arenas are full of hazards and power-ups that can turn the tide in seconds.
All collectible items fall from above — gems give you points, bombs take them away, and wings grant a short burst of flight. One of these falling items is SLOW, which temporarily reduces your movement speed for 10 seconds, no matter where you are.
In addition, each map features environmental slow zones — areas like water, bubbling lava, or poisonous fog — that slow you down only while you are inside them. Step out, and your speed is instantly restored.
Every map combines these elements in unique ways, forcing you to adapt your tactics and outsmart your rival.

Scoring:
Each gem collected gives +1 point.
Avoid bombs – they will take away 1 point!
Watch out for SLOW traps – they will temporarily reduce your speed.
Pick up wings to fly for a short time to be faster than you opponent. Wings allow you to quickly reach hard-to-get gems.
Watch out for environmental slow zones such as water, lava, or poisonous fog — while they don’t affect your score directly, getting stuck in them for even a moment can give your opponent the edge to grab more gems before you do.
Controls and Setup
Movement: Joystick — left/right to move, up to jump.
Wings: After collecting wings, press up to fly briefly.
Pause/Menu: Hold fire button for 3 seconds → choose Continue or Restart.
Map Selection: 12 maps in 3 categories — Night Terrain, Dark Love, Clouds and Poisons.
Match Duration: Choose 60, 120, 180, or 240 seconds.
Maps
Each arena in Robo Gems has its own look, layout, and unique way to trip you up. From water that drags at your legs to poisonous fog that clings to your every step, every map offers a different challenge — and a new way to lose your lead in the final seconds.
Floating grass-and-dirt islands drifting under a starry sky. Watch out for water pools — they’ll slow you down just long enough for your opponent to snatch a gem from under your nose. There are planets to admire and a moon that’s probably judging your jumps.

Lava pools, purple cables on pitch-black walls, and a pink skull with heart-shaped eyes watching your every move. Step into the lava and you’ll find yourself moving in slow motion — just in time for someone else to score. Cute, creepy, and slightly flammable.

White, fluffy clouds float above black mountain peaks, serving as solid platforms for daring jumps. Between them hangs a drifting, poisonous green fog — slow enough to feel like you’re running in a dream, but deadly to your scoring chances if you linger. Pine trees dot the peaks, and a deep navy sky looms above, framing the danger in beauty

Hopefully the final version has sound. Playing such game without is not much fun.
Yes, final version has sound :) Demo version is quite outdated compared to the current one.
Full version is near to finish. Hopefully will be available within a month or two.
Good title, needs an AI to be playable as single player though.
This is going to be a fun two-player game. I added it to my new video with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy it.
Great. Thank you :)
Jako K&A PLUS czekamy na pełną wersję 😁
Na pewno się pojawi:)
